Last year when I moved into my flat, I was greeted with the site of some truly hideous, dirty, ill fitting curtains in both bedrooms. They were quickly taken down in the back bedroom to be replaced by something that actually keeps to cold and light out (two fairly fundamental areas that the old curtains failed in), but lingered for a while in the front room. However both pairs have now been re-purposed for a new life and been given fresh purpose; truly they can claim that they now “I block light, therefore I am (a curtain)”.
I MADE A THING. AND IT WASN’T A TOTAL FUCK UP!!
So far the 100 items list is moving very slowly… but not for the reasons you’d expect. When I started the lists, I diligently recorded every item I threw away. Not because I was being extremely organised, but because it was the only way I could get rid of items; in the back of my mind if I had listed and photographed them, it was OK to remove. Otherwise, no way. But now… it’s reached a stage of kind of “meh, bin it”. Although I definitely still have some emotional attachment to items, I feel like there has been a subtle diminishing over time.
Very quick post today to say a big hello to my boyfriend on YouTube… he has started vlogging to promote positivity and motivate and inspire others. I’m so proud of him and can’t wait to see what he achieves!
I have written previously about my attempts to go back to my natural colour, which is now (depressingly) about 30% grey – in between the last post I have had it cut once, which got rid of all of the remaining colour and started the groundwork for growing out. I was pleased… but then I wandered into Boots…
After a brief break over summer to focus on professional development (blergh) I have kick started my ‘see-one-cool-thing-in-London-a-month’ funtimes again. My first trip out has been one that has been on the radar since I moved down- Highgate Cemetery. Creepy Victoriana – check. Famous Tombs – checks. Friend with a similarly macabre sense of adventure – check. And away!
